تیم ملی فوتسال زنان ایران با سه برد پیاپی در برابر تیم‌های هنگ‌کنگ، ازبکستان، و مالزی، و کسب ۹ امتیاز، صدرنشین گروه A مسابقات قهرمانی فوتسال آسیا شد و به مرحله‌ی نیمه‌نهایی این رقابت‌ها رسید.
تیم ایران در سه دیدار خود در مرحله‌ی گروهی این رقابت‌ها ابتدا با نتیجه ۶ بر صفر، هنگ‌کنگ را شکست داد و سپس با نتیجه‌ی ۹ به ۱ مقابل ازبکستان پیروز شد. ملی‌پوشان فوتسال ایران در دیدار سوم نیز موفق شدند مالزی، میزبان رقابت‌ها را با نتیجه‌ی ۴ بر ۲ مغلوب کنند.
ایران در مرحله‌ی نیمه‌نهایی باید روز جمعه (۲۵ سپتامبر-۳ مهر) در مقابل تایلند، تیم دوم گروه B قرار بگیرد. مالزی و ژاپن هم دیگر دیدار این مرحله را برای تعیین فینالیست‌های مسابقات برگزار خواهند کرد.
نسیمه غلامی (کاپیتان)، فرزانه توسلی، فرشته کریمی، فهیمه زارعی، فاطمه اعتدادی، اعظم آخوندی، طاهره مهدی‌پور ، سحر پاپی، سارا شیربیگی، زهره میثمی، سپیده زرین‌راد، سهیلا ملمولی، مهسا نظری و نغمه مرادی، ۱۴ بازیکن تیم ایران را در این مسابقات تشکیل می‌دهند.
این در حالی است که نیلوفر اردلان، بازیکن باسابقه و کاپیتان اصلی تیم ایران به دلیل مخالفت همسرش، از حضور در این دیدارها باز مانده است.
